The Day of Silence, organized by GLSEN, is an opportunity to spread awareness about the effects of the bullying and harassment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning students. Students take a day-long vow of silence to symbolically represent the silencing of LGBTQ students.
GLSEN encourages K-12 students and educators to register their participation and offers a lot of tools and resources on their website. Visit the website at: www.glsen.org/day-of-silence.
